Jungian therapists have a long and intensive treatment process. Individuals are seen at least twice a week.
Treatment has 4 stages: 1. Catharsis & emotional cleaning: an understanding of the past and present and allow people to discuss difficulties without increasing pain by reliving them
2. Elucidation: clients work through emotional difficulties, unrealistic thoughts & fantasies. Transference and countertransference are explored and analyzed which can help guide the treatment process
3. Education: Counselor must be supportive and help clients take certain risks to improve their lives.
4. Transformation: Clients now have an in-depth access to their unconscious mind and the archetypes. Clients may feel as if they have a better self balance
